About WOKE

In senior year of high school at Perpich Arts High School, the 4 students in the "Intro to Design" class came up with an idea for a project that prevents misinformation and educates on human rights. This project is called WOKE. Originally created by Faith Blackstone, Julia Magel, Raiya Myers, and Kato Nazarian- It is now Faith and Julia who manage WOKE.

Originally, WOKE was to be a source of unbiased media. However, after much consideration we came to understand that there is no such thing as “unbiased” in today’s social and political climate. With this in mind, our goal became to provide as much accurate information about issues/topics as possible.

Bias is a direct cause of misinformation, a danger more prominent to our society than ever before. With fact-checked information, bias is reduced and replaced with KNOWLEDGE- a tool we believe is powerful enough to eliminate misinformation from our personal and digital lives.
